Testing the knob, you find it unlocked, a small bell signalling your entrance. Inside, the building is dark and stuffy, a dim light at the end of the hall the only thing illuminating the space. You wonder if the door was lying to you- if this place really has any life left in it- before a speaker crackles to life next to you.
"Hiya, hon!" you hear a friendly, if not difficult to parse, voice calls out. "Sorry the welcoming committee isn't out, but I'm in my office! End of the hall, you can't miss it. Come see me, if you're up for it."
The speaker clicks off after that, leaving you in silence once again. You hesitate, wondering if this is a good idea. This whole thing seems a little... suspicious. Even if it is the most interesting thing that's happened in weeks.
